"Oya" refers to a traditional form of Ottoman lace originating in Anatolia. It is made using a needle or crochet hook with intricate patterns. Christine Delpal, the founder of Karawan, develops her collections with a collective of Turkish women, with a view to promoting and professionalising this exceptional feminine craft, which has been overlooked for too long.
