Working with tyres: meticulous expertise
It is the craftsmen's skill in stripping and stitching the tyres that makes each item unique, marked by its irregularities. Textile-reinforced tyres, which are different from those used in Western countries, are stripped with a knife to reveal up to 12 layers. These pre-formed sheets, retaining the shape of the tyre, are then rolled up, cut, sewn or riveted to create creative, eco-friendly, reusable everyday objects.
