Rhassoul is a clay containing a large quantity of natural foaming saponins that protect against microbial parasites. Used as a shampoo, cleansing cream or mask, rhassoul absorbs impurities without damaging the protective film on the skin or hair. Its effectiveness has made it an essential part of the hammam ritual, derived from the oldest Oriental traditions.

Karawan's rhassoul clay is a foaming clay powder very rich in minerals (magnesium, calcium, iron, sodium, zinc, phosphorus, potassium). Its natural purity and composition make it one of the essentials of the hammam, complementing the black soap scrub. Forming a paste in the presence of water, rhassoul purifies the epidermis and exfoliates dead cells while respecting the hydrolipidic film. It adds shine and volume to the scalp.
For combination and oily skin, Karawan rhassoul absorbs excess sebum without drying. It gently cleanses without irritating sensitive skin.
Rhassoul can be used as a cleansing cream or mask for the skin and hair. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for all skin types. Its calcium oxide content is one of the lowest of all organic clays, making it suitable for use as an eye mask. A weekly treatment is recommended.
Mix 2 tablespoons of rhassoul with a little water to obtain a homogeneous paste (as a liquid paste shampoo). Apply to the body, face or hair and leave for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing.
