The Belkis ring is a handmade creation, carefully crafted by Anatolian women with whom Karawan develops its collections as part of a solidarity-based economy. The finely worked thread forms the outline of a flower with superimposed petals. Traditional craftsmanship sublimated in a contemporary jewel imbued with poetry.

The Oya signature

OYA lace is worked with a very fine needle or crochet. A floral design to celebrate life and pay homage to the eternal feminine!

Valuing women's work

This Belkis ring from Karawan's Oya lace jewellery collection is inspired by the name of the Queen of Sheba, a symbol of wisdom and prosperity. Belkis is also the name of the rose in Turkish.
Each floral motif is carefully crocheted to create a voluminous effect, like superimposed petals. A romantic, timeless accessory that fits different finger sizes.

Christine Delpal, the brand's designer, spends long days in the mountains of Anatolia with a group of women to design the jewellery together. Graphic or floral motifs traditionally adorn the edges of their scarves. A new take on tradition is emerging, reinterpreting these symbols in a contemporary design. Since 2010, 30 women from the surrounding villages have got together to train young people and organise the manufacture of our jewellery.
