The horn is a natural material, worked since the beginning of time. In Vietnam, the artisans use buffalo horn which accompanies man in the hard work the rice fields. This craft is now threatened by the plastics industry. To shape a comb or hair clip, more than ten manual operations succeed. Helped in part by small presses, grinders and saws, the horn is open, flattened and then separated into several parts that are advanced, and the hollow throat each for specific objects. Sanding and polishing will enable the finishing touches to reveal the transparency of blond horn and give all its brilliance to this noble material. 

Karawan supports a traditional workshop in Ho Chi Minh region in a solidarity economy approach. Falls after cutting, highly concentrated nitrogen is reused as fertilizer.
